1. Remove any fat from the meat and cut into cubes. 2. Brown in a little hot oil. Do this in batches to keep from 'stewing'. 3. Return all meat to pan and add onion, garlic, mushrooms, tomato paste, paprika, stock powder and first measure of water. 4. Cover and simmer gently for 1-11/2 hours or until the meat is tender. 5. Mix the cornflour with the 2 Tbsp water and stir into the beef. 6. Heat for a few minutes until thickened. 7.
