1. In large soup pot, simmer potatoes, onions and carrots in salted water for 45 minutes. 2. Add green beans, peas, beans and spaghetti. Crumble in bread. Season with pepper and saffron. Simmer 15 minutes. 3. Meanwhile, in food processor, blend garlic, tomato paste, basil and Parmesan. With machine running, pour in olive oil in steady, slow stream (this forms an emulsion).
