1. In a large sauce pan, melt butter & add onion. 2. Add tomatoes & stir for 30 seconds, then add flour & stir another 1/2 minute. Add water slowly while continuing to stir. 3. Add salt, pepper, basil, thyme & brown sugar, then reduce heat & simmer about 50 minutes, stirring often. 4. Let tomato mixture cool slightly, then pour it into a blender & liquify for just a few seconds before serving. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
