1. Put ham into a large pot, add all other ingredients-except cabbage add stock or water to cover. 2. Bring to a boil, simmer and cook until veggies are tender. 3. Add seasonings. Add cabbage, simmer for 20 minutes, or until cabbage is cooked. 4. Strain the cabbage and season it with salt/pepper. (Cabbage in stew optional is is salad ). 5. FOR THE SALAD: prep all, add dressing, mix thoroughly and refrigerate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
