1. Set oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cream butter, shortening and sugar with vanilla. 3. Sift the flour, baking soda and baking powder. 4. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture along with the coconut and nuts (if using). 5. Mix to form a roll. 6. Chill in the fridge for 2 or more hours. 7. Slice and bake on a greased cookie sheet OR drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. 8.
