1. Cream shortening and sugar. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Spread dough in greased 9 x 12-inch pan. 4. Bake at 350F for 1 hour. 5. Remove from oven and brush with cream. 6. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar if desired. 7. Let cool for 15 minutes. 8. Turn onto a baking sheet and cut in strips 1-1/2" x 3", separated from each other. 9. Dry in 200F oven for 1 to 2 hours. 10. These will keep for a long time; airtight container preferred but not necessary. 11.
