Tempting Chocolate Chip Shortbread


1. Heat oven to 350º.

2. Combine butter and sugar in large mixer bowl.

3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy (1 to 2 minutes).

4. Reduce speed to low and add flour and cornstarch; beat, scraping bowl often, until well-mixed (1 to 2 minutes).

5. Stir in the chips by hand.

6. Press into ungreased 13x9 pan.

7. Prick all over with a fork.

8. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until edges just begin to brown.

9. If browning too quickly, cover with aluminum foil.

10. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

11. Cut into bars while still warm.
