1. Peel and slice the tomatoes. 2. Remove the seeds and slice into half-inch cubes. 3. Saute onions and garlic in olive oil. 4. Add the tomato paste. 5. Add the tomatoes and chopped basil leaves. 6. Bring to a boil and season with salt and pepper. 7. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 8. Blend with a small hand blender. 9. Stir in cream and gin. 10. Pour into six soup dishes. 11.
