1. Rinse the beans and soak them in water overnight, then drain and rinse again. 2. Heat oil in a large pot, then cook the onion in the oil over medium heat, until tender. Add the garlic and cook for about a minute, stirring frequently. 3. Add the beans and broth. Bring to a boil,then reduce the heat. Cover and simmer for 60-90 minutes, until the beans are tender.
