1. Drain asparagus spears, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid. 2. Heat margarine in a saucepan. 3. Add flour; blend. 4. Gradually pour in asparagus liquid and milk. 5. Stir constantly over low heat until sauce thickens and bubbles. 6. Add cooked ham and seasonings. 7. Gently stir in asparagus spears; heat through but do not boil. 8.
