This is if not the first, one of the first times this cocktail appeared in print. Did it originate in Paris, or was it brought there by Americans escaping prohibition?

Ingredients:
1/6 Freshly squozen lemon juice
1/6 honey
⅔ dry gin

Method:
In a shaker tin, dissolve honey into lemon.
Add gin, and ice.
Shake to chill and dilute.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
