Aloo Bhalle | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Scrumptious bhalle made using the humble potatoes.
ALOO BHALLE

Ingredients

3 large potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
2 tbsps corn starch
1 tbsp crushed coriander seeds
¼ tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing + for shallow frying
Green chutney as required
Sweet tamarind chutney
Chaat masala powder as required

Method

1. In a bowl, add potatoes, corn starch, coriander seeds, red chilli powder, salt and mix well. Grease the palms of the hands with oil, divide the mixture into equal portions, and shape them into tikkis.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, shallow fry the tikkis for 2-3 minutes on medium, press slightly and cook till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
3. Place the prepared bhalle on a serving plate, break them into pieces and drizzle green chutney, sweet tamarind chutney, and sprinkle chaat masala powder. Serve immediately.
