Peel the skin of potatoes and cut into pieces. Heat the pan and add 3 table spoons oil. Add 1 tea spoon mustard seeds, 1 tea spoon cumin seeds, 2 tea spoons black gram, 2 tea spoons bengal gram and fry for 2 minutes. Add onions, fry for 2 minutes and add green chillis, add curry leaves. Close the lid and allow it cook for some time. Add 1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder, 1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste and mix well. Add salt to taste. Add boiled and diced potatoes and mix well, close the lid, allow it cook for 10 minutes on low flame. Optionally add coconut powder and cook for 2 minutes.
