American chopsuey is a lip smacking preparation of crispy noodles and served with a zingy, tangy sauce of few veggies and spices. Recipe in Hindi -http://nishamadhulika.com/1189-indian-style-american-chopsuey.htmlRecipe in English - http://indiangoodfood.com/387-american-chop-suey.htmlIngredientsNoodles – 100 gramsCorn flour- 2 to 3 tbspCapsicum – ½ cup (finely chopped)French beans – ½ cup (finely chopped)Oil – for fryingCabbage – ½ cupSprouted moong dal – less than ½ cpTomato sauce – 2 to 3 tbspSoya sauce – 1.5 tspSalt – 1.5 tsp or as per tasteVinegar – 1 tspChilly sauce – ½ tspSweet Tulsi – 5 to 6 sprigsDirectionsGetting ready:1.Take 3 to 4 cups of water in a vessel and place it on flame for heating. When you see gentle boil in the water add 1 to 1.5 tsp oil and ½ tsp salt into it.2.Meanwhile, break noodles in small chunks and place them in simmering water. Let them simmer until soft. It can take 5 to 6 minutes.3.Now strain the boiled noodles thorough a sieve and drain out the water. Let the noodles cool down. Making:4.Now add 1 to 1.5 tsp corn flour to it. Mix well.5.Heat some oil in a pan and place the noodles in circular motion into it.6.Turn the side when fried from beneath and deep fry the other side as well until crispy. Drain out the fried noodles on kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.7.Leave 2 tsp oil in the wok and drain out the rest. To it add following ingredients – carrots, beans, capsicum, cabbage and sprouted moong dal.8.Stir and fry the veggies on high flame until crunchy and crispy.9.Now add rest off the following ingredients to the wok – 1 cup water, soya sauce, chilly sauce, tomato sauce, salt and let it simmer.10.Then add finely chopped basil. Mix 2 to 3 water in corn flour and make a smooth batter.11.Add this batter to the sauce, followed by vinegar and let it simmer on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.12.Turn off the flame and transfer it to a serving bowl.Serving:13.For serving, take one fried round of the noodles over a plate and pour some sauce over it.
