Arbi or Colocasia or Taro root or Seppankizhangu is always a part of any celebration lunch, be it a wedding, a festive moment, a birthday,or an anniversary - at least that’s what I have noticed in Tamil families. But, the best is the Arbi Roast/Seppankizhangu Roast by my mother-in-law! The Arbi/Seppankizhangu would transform into a Golden colour, every piece evenly roasted to taste divine!

Having raved so much about Taro root/Colocasia/Arbi/Seppankizhangu, it’s now time to delve into the nutrition facts of the same. 

"Taro root is a good source of fiber and many vitamins and minerals that the standard American diet frequently lacks.

Taro root contains fiber and resistant starch, which both slow digestion and reduce blood sugar spikes after meals.

Taro root is high in fiber and resistant starch, which helps lower cholesterol and reduce your risk of heart disease.

Taro root contains polyphenols and antioxidants that may combat cancer growth and protect your body from oxidative stress. Yet, more research in this area is needed.
