Freshly baked cake with the combination of fresh bananas and chocolate chips.

BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE

Ingredients

1 cup banana puree
150 gms chocolate chips
1½ cups refined flour (maida) + for dusting
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
¾ cup castor sugar
½ cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup yogurt, whisked
Oil for greasing

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180º C.
2. Sift together refined flour, salt and baking soda into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar and mix well. Add butter and mix well. Break eggs and add. Add vanilla essence, yogurt and mix well.
3. Add banana puree and mix well. Add brown sugar and beat with electric beater till smooth. Reserve some chocolate chips and add the rest and mix well.
4. Grease a cake tin with oil and dust with some refined flour. Pour the batter into the tin and spread reserved chocolate chips on top.
5. Put the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes.
6. Remove the cake from the tin, cool down to room temperature, cut into wedges, arrange on a serving platter and serve immediately.
