We often add extra chili powder, and hot sauce!Ingredients 1 pound (455g) ground beef1 diced white or yellow onion3 ribs diced celery1 diced green bell pepper2 cloves garlic, minced1 -26 ounce (796 mL) can tomato puree1 -19 ounce (540 mL) can kidney beans with liquid1 -19 ounce (540 mL) can kidney beans, drained1 -19 ounce (540 mL)can cannellini beans with liquid½ Tbsp (7 mL) chili powder1 tsp (5 mL) salt1 tsp (5 mL) dried basil1 tsp (5 mL) dried oregano¼ tsp (1 mL) ground black pepper¼ tsp (1 mL) hot pepper sauceMethod:Brown the beef over medium heat. (this is optional, you can place ground beef uncooked directly into slow cooker)Place the beef in a slow cooker, mixing in onion, celery, green bell pepper, garlic, tomato puree, kidney beans, and cannellini beans (you can drain and rinse if you feel strongly about it).
