Boost Me Up Smoothie | BuonaPappa

Day 9th of Covid...and the whole family is now positive. A tray of snacks and smoothie for half morning ready to be enjoyed.
Luckily all mild cases, but positive cases indeed with a variety of symptoms from sore throat to running nose.
We are resting and fighting it out as much as we can. I've been using all my natural remedies, all at the same time, on top of over the counter medications.
Tons of fluids for the kids: water, water with fruit, orange juice, smoothies, popsicles made with elderberry syrup, frozen drops of orange juice and honey (not for babies under 12 months), milk with honey, camomile with honey, honeysticks. I also offered them jellows when the sore throat was too sore.
And a combination of ginger, garlic, turmeric, lemon, orange in all forms.
Chicken soups and veggie soups to comfort in the evening and light lunch with snacks during the day.

The kids' appetite went down. It's totally normal when they are sick and you should not worry, it happens to adults too. Just make sure they are getting enough liquids in any form they like.

To make food more appealing for them I involved them in the prep phase. My little one prepared the smoothie and my older one squeezed the oranges. I also used unusual cups and straws to serve it. Anything to make things a bit more fun.

Also...I cut their usual portions in half. Being sick I knew they would not eat as usual. Having a full plate in front of them with zero appetite can create stress. Better to see only a few bites and maybe enjoy one or two.

Thank you for all your get well wishes, you are simply the best!
