A wonderful twist to the regular Gulab Jamun. This is just the right way to end your meal on a sweet note. BREAD GULAB JAMUNIngredients4 white bread slices1 cup sugar2-3 green cardamomsA large pinch of saffron1 tsp lemon juice2 tbsps mawa/khoya1½ tbsps chopped pistachios10-15 raisins¼ tsp green cardamom powder2 tbsps milk powder¼ cup milkOil for deep frying Method1. Heat sugar and 1½ cups water in a deep pan, open the green cardamom pods and add into the pan. Add saffron, cover and cook till the sugar melts. Add lemon juice, cover and bring it to a boil. Cook till the mixture thickens slightly.2. Trim the edges of the breads slices and cut into 1 inch cubes.3. In a bowl, add mawa, chopped pistachios, raisins and green cardamom powder , mix well and set aside.4. Transfers the bread in bowl, add milk powder and milk. Mash and knead into soft dough. Divide the mixture into equal portion and stuffed each with a portion of mawa mixture and shape into balls. 5. Heat sufficient oil in kadai, deep fry the prepared balls and drain in the prepared sugar syrup. 6.
