BULGUR PILAF WITH CELERY ROOT AND ORANGE

In this episode I'd like to share with you another Bulgur pilaf recipe with celery root and orange. We love all these flavors together, hope you give it a try. You can also cook this dish with rice or feel free to add 1 cup cooked chickpeas right before adding the water, it tastes so amazing!

INGREDIENTS
2 cups bulgur (or rice)
1 celery root
1 orange
4 real tablespoonful butter
1 onion (finely chopped)
4-5 cloves
1/2 tsp granulated sugar
A pinch of hot paprika (optional)
Olive oil
Salt & black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Peel the celery and cut into cubes.
Heat 2-3 tbsp olive oil in a pan, add the onions.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt & black pepper and saute for about 6-7 minutes over medium low heat, until tender.
Add celery, sprinkle 1/2 tsp sugar and mix.
Add rinsed bulgur (or rice) and mix well.
Add butter.
Add freshly grated orange peel, squeeze the orange juice, set aside.
Sprinkle 1 tsp or to taste salt and a pinch of black pepper, mix.
Stir occasionally, until the butter melts.
Add 1/2 cup of orange juice and 3 1/2 cups of water, bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Give it a stir then add 4-5 cloves on top and reduce the heat to
medium low.
Cover and cook for about 14-15 minutes.
Check for doneness then turn off the heat.
Cover with paper towels then the lid, let rest for 15 minutes.
Remove the cloves and mix gently.
Place into a serving dish then sprinkle a tiny pinch of hot paprika
if desired, and serve hot.
