A scrumptious paratha made using chana dal. CHANA DAL PARANTHA Ingredients1½ cups Tata Sampann Chana DalReady-made dough made using 2 cups whole wheat flourSalt to taste½ tsp turmeric powder1 green chilli½ tbsp finely chopped ginger1 tsp cumin seeds½ tsp turmeric powder½ tsp red chilli powder1 tsp garam masala powder1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leavesYogurt to serveMethod1. In a large bowl, add Tata Sampann Chana Dal and sufficient water, wash the dal and transfer into another bowl.2. Soak the dal with sufficient water for 3-4 hours.3. Heat a non-stick pan, add the soaked dal and 2 cups water. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.4. Transfer the mixture into a ricer, add green chilli, finely chopped ginger, cumin seeds and coarsely mince the mixture.5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, chopped coriander and mix well.6. Take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball. Dust with flour and spread it to make cavity in the middle and stuff it with a portion of the prepared mixture.7. Roll the stuffed dough into a small disc.8. Heat a non-stick tawa, place the prepared disc on it and cook for 1-2 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.9. Apply ghee and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side till golden and brown specks appear on both sides.
