This recipe makes for an interesting evening snack or a party appetizer. CHANA DAL TIKKIIngredients1½ cups split bengal gram (chana dal), soaked for 2-3 hours1 medium onion, chopped¼ cup chopped fresh coriander leaves2-3 green chillies, finely chopped¼ tsp turmeric powder1 tsp chaat masala powder1 tsp garam masala powder1 inch ginger, finely choppedSalt to taste2 tbsps gram flour (besan)Oil for shallow fryingTomato ketchup to serveMethod1. In a food processor, add split bengal gram, onion, fresh coriander, green chillies, turmeric powder, chaat masala, garam masala, ginger, and salt. Process to a coarse paste.2. Transfer the prepared mix in a bowl, add gram flour and mix well. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.3. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick tawa, place the prepared tikkis and cook on both sides till golden brown and crispy. Drain on an absorbent paper4.
