Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart French Bread

A very attractive snack, which wins your heart not only with its wonderful herby flavour but also with its unique form! The Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart French Bread involves a tactful way of cutting the bread (shown in the image below), which lets you pull it apart upon baking, giving way to the gooey cheese filling that has strong shades of garlic and oregano. This can be served as a soup or with pasta as part of the main course.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes.
Cooking Time: Nil.
Serves 4.
Baking Temperature: 200°C (400°F).
Baking Time: 20 minutes.

1 French bread
¾ cup grated processed cheese

To be mixed into a garlicky herb mixture
2 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1½ tsp dried oregano
4 tbsp soft butter

1. Slit the French bread horizontally using a sharp bread knife as shown in the image below.
2. Then make diagonal slit using a bread knife at equal distance as shown in the image below.
3. Apply the garlicky herb mixture in between the horizontal and diagonal slits using a butter knife.
4. Stuff the horizontal and diagonal slits evenly with cheese.
5. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15 minutes.
Serve immediately.
