This literally mouth-melting patty has a combination of sweet, spicy and salty flavor with lots of cheese in the center!

CHEESY MAKAI ALOO PATTY

Ingredients

50 gram mozzarella cheese
30 gram processed cheese
½ cup sweet corn kernels, boiled and coarsely crushed
2 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
Salt to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
2-3 green chillies, chopped
1 tsp Tata Sampann Chilli Powder
2 tbsps milk
Oil for greasing + for deep frying
Corn flour slurry as required
Bread crumbs as required
2 tbsps toasted white sesame seeds
Salt to taste

Method

1. Grate boiled potatoes in a large bowl, add sweet corn, coriander leaves and salt and mix. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and set aside.
2. To make the cheese mixture, grate mozzarella cheese in another bowl, add processed cheese, garlic powder, green chillies, Tata Sampann Chilli Powder, salt and milk and mix. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape into a ball.
3. Grease your palms with oil, flatten each potato mixture, make a cavity in the centre and stuff with a cheese portion, seal the edges and slightly flatten to shape like a patty.
4. Take corn flour slurry in a bowl and spread breadcrumbs on a plate, add white sesame seeds and salt and mix well.
5. Dip each tikki into the corn flour slurry and roll on bread crumbs mixture and coat from all sides.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick shallow pan, place the tikkis, shallow fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
