A mouth-watering popular street food tossed where noodles is fried with delicious chicken strips and flavourful sauces.

CHICKEN CHOWMEIN

Ingredients

150 grams chicken breast, boiled and cut into strips
200 grams egg noodles, boiled
1 medium onion, peeled
½ medium carrot, peeled
¼ medium capsicum
¼ small cabbage
1½ tbsps dark soy sauce
1 tbsp green chilli sauce
½ tbsp red chilli sauce
½ tsp vinegar
2 eggs
Salt to taste
1 tbsps oil
2½ tbsps finely chopped garlic
2 green chillies, chopped
A pinch of sugar
¼ tsp black pepper powder

Method

1. Cut onion in half and thinly slice them. Slice carrot and cut them into thin strips and set them aside.
2. Slice capsicum and finely shred cabbage. Set aside.
3. In a bowl, add dark soy sauce, green chilli sauce, red chilli sauce and vinegar. Mix well and set them aside.
4. In a bowl, break eggs and add salt, beat well using a fork. Set aside.
5. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick wok, add the beaten eggs and mix well to scramble. Cook for 1 minute and take them off the heat. Transfer to a bowl and set them aside.
6. Heat remaining oil in the same wok, add garlic, green chillies and sauté well.
7. Add sliced onion and sauté till translucent. Add the remaining vegetables and sauté well.
8. Add salt and sugar, mix well. Add noodles, mix well and add the prepared sauce, black pepper powder and toss well.
9. Add egg mixture and chicken, toss till well combined. Cook for 1 minute and take it off the heat.
10. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot.
