Chicken Farcha | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A typical Parsi dish of fried chicken, Chicken Farcha is packed with loads of flavor. Its taste is similar to the chicken you find in restaurants, making this dish a winner.

CHICKEN FARCHA

Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1½ teaspoons coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Oil for deep-frying
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
Onion rings for garnishing
Lemon slices for garnishing
Fresh mint leaves for garnishing

Method

1. Put chicken drumsticks in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix. Add lemon juice and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
3. Spread breadcrumbs on a plate and coat the marinated chicken drumsticks.
4. Dip each prepared chicken drumstick in beaten egg and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Serve hot garnished with onion rings, lemon slices and mint leaves.
