Chilli Garlic Chutney | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Chilli Garlic chutney is sticky chutney which spices up any dish, making it delectable. A perfect balance of spicy and tangy, this chutney strikes a chord.

CHILLI GARLIC CHUTNEY

Ingredients

4-5 dried red chillies
5-6 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon split Bengal gram (chana dal)
2 teaspoons chopped jaggery
1 teaspoon tamarind pulp
½ cup scraped fresh coconut
2 teaspoons oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
5-6 curry leaves

Method

1. Grind together garlic cloves, split Bengal gram, jaggery, dried red chillies, tamarind pulp and 2-3 tablespoons water into smooth mixture.
2. Add coconut, salt and 3-4 tablespoons water and grind into smooth mixture. Transfer in a bowl.
3. Heat oil in a tempering pan. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add curry leaves and let it crackle.
4. Pour the tempering over the chutney and serve.
