A winter delicacy snack recipe of pressed rice cooked with fresh green peas.CHOODA MATARIngredients1½ cups pressed rice (poha/chooda)½ cup green peas (matar), boiled2 tablespoons ghee2 bay leaves1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)1-2 green chillies, finely chopped1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger12-14 cashewnuts, halvedSalt to taste1 teaspoon garam masala powderNylon sev for sprinkling Method1. Soak pressed rice in sufficient water. Squeeze and set aside.2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add bay leaves and cumin seeds, mix and sauté till the seeds change colour. 3. Add green chillies and ginger, mix and sauté for a minute. Add cashewnuts and mix well. 4. Add green peas, mix and cook for a minute. Add salt and toss well. Add garam masala powder and mix well. 5. Discard bay leaves, add pressed rice, mix well and let it get heated through. 6. Sprinkle sev on top and serve hot.
