COASTRAL STYLE FRIED POMFRET | Vahchef - VahRehVah

A coastal and konkan style fish recipe. It is most hot, most spicy, most oily and most delicious. Any visit to coastal region is incomplete without tasting this coastal style fried pomfret.

Ingredients:
Red chillies 4-5 Numbers
Black peppercorns 1/2 Teaspoons
Green cardamom 2-3 Numbers
Cloves 4-5 Numbers
Cardamom piece 1-2 Numbers
Coriander seeds 1 Teaspoons
Fennel seeds 1 Teaspoons
Onion 1 Teaspoons
Ginger pieces 4-5 Numbers
Garlic cloves 5-6 Clove
Tamarind (lime size) 1 Numbers
Vinegar 1 Tablespoons
Turmeric powder 1 Pinch
Sugar 1 Teaspoons
Semolina 1/4 Cup
All-purpose flour 1/4 Cup

Directions:
1.In a mixie blender, add in all the spices, tamarind, turmeric pd, vinegar, sugar, onion and grind to a paste. Transfer the mixture in a bowl, add some salt and mix well.
2.With help of the knive, from the center, cut the fish into two halves. Make some light gashes vertically and horizontally over the pomfret fish.
3.Apply the masala paste well on the inner sides of the fish.
4.In a plate, take some semolina, add all-purpose flour, pinch of salt, mix and sprinkle over the masala coated fish and tap so that the flour sticks to the masala. Turn over the two halves, apply the masala paste and sprinkle the flour over
. 5.Shallow fry the fish in hot oil until the fish is done, golden in color and crispy.
6.Serve hot.
