A popular south Indian Chutney, Coconut Chutney is the perfect condiment for various south Indian dishes, ranging from an Idli to a Dosa!COCONUT CHUTNEY Ingredients 1 cup scraped fresh coconut1-2 green chillies1 inch gingerSalt to taste1 tablespoon oil1 tablespoon split black gram (urad dal)1 teaspoon mustard seeds2-3 dried red chillies6-8 curry leavesMethod1. Blend together coconut, green chilli, ginger and salt with sufficient water to a coarse paste (chutney). 2. For the tempering, heat oil in a small non-stick tempering pan. Add black gram and mustard seeds and let the seeds splutter.3. Add red chillies and curry leaves and sauté for 15 seconds. 4.
