Cream Cheese Banana Bread | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Moist and delicious with loads of banana flavor, this banana bread does complete justice to the delectable banana flavour!

CREAM CHEESE BANANA BREAD

Ingredients

2 medium bananas
1 cup refined flour (maida) + for dusting
Butter for greasing
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup oil
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
Cream cheese mixture
150 grams cream cheese
½ cup castor sugar
3 tablespoons refined flour (maida)
1 egg

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease a loaf tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
2. Peel and mash the bananas.
3. Break egg in a bowl. Add brown sugar and whisk using an electric beater. Add sour cream and oil and whisk. Add mashed bananas and whisk well to get a smooth batter.
4. Sieve together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and fold well.
5. To prepare cream cheese mixture, combine cream cheese, sugar, flour and egg in a bowl and whisk well.
6. Pour half of banana batter into the greased loaf tin and tap. Spread cream cheese mixture and pour remaining banana batter on top and tap.
7. Put the tin into the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould.
8. Slice and serve.
