Dal Pinni Punjabi Pinni #DiwaliWithProV Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

DAL PINNI

Ingredients

1 cups split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal), soaked for 3-4 hours and drained
cup ghee
2 tbsps semolina (suji)
tsp whole wheat flour (atta)
3 tbsps gram flour (besan)
10-15 Pro V Regal Jumbo Cashew nuts
cup grated khoya
1 cup sugar
cup milk
2-3 tsps dried rose petal powder
Pistachio powder to sprinkle
Pro V Select Almonds, halved

Method

1. Transfer the soaked dal in a grinder jar. Add cup water and grind to fine paste.
2. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add semolina, whole wheat flour and gram flour and roast for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
3. Add ground paste and cook on medium heat for 20-25 minutes or till the mixture turns golden brown.
4. Transfer Pro V Regal Jumbo Cashew nuts in a chopper and grind to fine powder. Re
5. Add khoya and sugar to dal mixture and cook till sugar dissolves completely and the mixture turns dark brown.
6. Reserve some cashew nut powder and add remaining powder and mix well. Add milk and mix well.
7. Transfer a spoonful of mixture in a flower shaped cookie cutter and press well.
8. Take remaining cashew nut powder in a bowl, add dried rose petal powder and mix well.
9. With the help of a small plastic sheet, sprinkle prepared cashew-rose powder on 2 parts and pistachio powder on remaining 2 parts.
10. Garnish with Pro V Select Almond halves and serve.
