You can transform making your regular pizza into this ‘deep pan pizza’ recipe as it means that you can add more of the toppings and the cheese! Enjoy taking the pizza to a deeper level.

DEEP PAN PIZZA

Ingredients

250 grams readymade pizza dough
Oil for greasing
Refined flour for dusting
Polenta for dusting
½ cup pizza sauce
½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
5-6 button mushrooms, sliced
2-3 fresh jalapenos, sliced
1 small green capsicum, cut in strips
1 small red capsicum, cut in strips
1 small yellow capsicum, cut in strips
4-5 chicken salamis, halved
2-3 chicken sausages, halved diagonally
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
4-5 fresh basil leaves, torn

Method

1. Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
2. Grease a pizza pan with oil. Set aside. Sprinkle refined flour and polenta on the worktop and roll the dough into a disc.
3. Roll the dough over the rolling pin, lift up and transfer to the baking pan. Dock the dough with a fork.
4. Bake the prepared base in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
5. Spread an even layer of pizza sauce on the base.
6. Top the pizza with cheese, mushrooms, fresh jalapenos, green capsicum, red capsicum, yellow capsicum, chicken salami, chicken sausage, salt, crushed black pepper and basil leaves.
7. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Slice and serve hot.
