DESI ONION RINGSIngredient4 large onions1 cup gram flour (Besan)2 tbsps rice flour 1 tbsp coriander powder½ tsp cumin powder½ tsp red chilli powder¼ tsp turmeric powder¼ tsp chaat masala powderSalt to tastePinch of baking soda½ cup refined flourVada pav chutney for servingOil to deep-fryMethod1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.2. Peel onion and cut into thick rings, separate the layers, and keep the rings in iced water.3. Combine gram flour, rice flour, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric, chaat masala, salt, baking soda, and Add some water and whisk well to make a thick and smooth batter.4. Pat-dry soaked onion rings on an absorbent paper. 5. Take refined flour in a bowl, coat onion rings with it and transfer onto a plate.6. Dip the dusted rings in the prepared gram flour batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.7. Serve hot with vada pav chutney.
