This classic Maharashtrian recipe is loaded with edible gum crystals, nuts, dry fruits and dates mix, making it a must-try sweet for all.DINKACHE LADDOOIngredients¼ cup edible gum (goand)1½ cups scraped fresh coconut3 tsps ghee½ cup chopped almond½ cup chopped pistachios½ cup chopped cashew nuts¼ cup chopped dried dates½ cup black raisins ¼ cup poppy seeds½ cup sugar¼ cup dried, powdered dates½ tsp nutmeg powder¼ tsp green cardamom powderMethod1. Dry roast coconut in a non-stick pan till slightly pink in colour. Transfer in a bowl.2. Heat 1 tsp ghee in the same pan, addalmond, pistachios and cashewnuts. Sauté for 1-2 minutes on medium heat. Add dates and black raisins. Mix well. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Addpoppy seeds and sauté for 3-4 minutes.Transfer in the same bowl.3. Heat 1 tsp ghee in same pan, add half of the goand and sauté till it becomes fluffy. Transfer in a separate bowl.4. Heat remaining ghee in same pan, add the remaining goand and sauté till it becomes fluffy. Transfer in the same bowl of goand.5. Add sugar and ¼ cup water in a deep non-stick pan.Mix well. Cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes ortill one string consistency, stirring occasionally.6. Crush the fried goand slightly and mix with the dried coconut mixture. Add dates powder, nutmeg powder and green cardamom powder in the mixture. Mix well.7. Add the sugar syrup in the laddoos mixture and mix well.While the mixture is still warm, shape it into medium sized laddoos.8.
