Ingredients

10 chicken drumsticks
5 tablespoons butter

Basic Chicken Rub:
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 4-sided baking sheet with nonstick spray. Line up drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet.

2 Stir all listed seasonings together in a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle in an even layer over the chicken. Rub on and underneath skin (optional).

3 Put a 1/2 tablespoon dab butter on the top of each drumstick, on the part that is most meaty. The butter will melt all over the meat and skin, keeping the meat juicy, and making the skin crispy.

4 Bake for 25-30 minutes in the oven until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Cajun Spiced:
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Zesty Tex-Mex:
2 limes juiced (about 1/4 cup)
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt

Flavors of India:
1 lemon juiced (about 1/4 cup)
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Drizzle juice over chicken to coat (if called for). Stir all listed seasonings together in a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle in an even layer over the chicken. Rub on and underneath skin (optional). Proceed with step 3 of recipe.
