Pair with steamed rice and enjoy it!FISH CURRY WITH DRUMSTICKSIngredients2 medium pomfrets, cleaned and cut into darnes¼ cup split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)2 tbsps split pigeon peas (toor dal)¼ cup coriander seeds2 tbsps cumin seeds6-7 black peppercorns6-8 dried red chillies, stemmed and broken½ cup scraped coconut1 gram rock asafoetida (hing)1 lemon sized tamarind piece½ tsp turmeric powder¾ tsp Tata Sampann Chilli PowderSalt to taste2 tbsps oil1 tsp mustard seeds10-12 curry leaves2 -3drumsticks, cut into 2 inch pieces½ cup shallotsFried curry leaves for garnishSteamed rice for servingMethod1. Heat a nonstick pan. Dry roast urad dal, toor dal ,coriander seeds, cumin seeds and peppercorns for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.2. Add dried red chillies and continue to roast for a minute. Add coconut, asafoetida , tamarind and roast till golden brown. Allow to cool.3. Marinate fish with salt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp Tata Sampann Chilli Powder and mix well.4. Transfer the roasted mixture in a blender jar, add 1 cup water and grind to fine paste.5. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add curry leaves, drumsticks and mix well.6. Add ¼ cup water, cover and cook for 6-8 minutes. Add shallots and mix well. Add remaining turmeric powder, remaining Tata Sampann Chilli Powder and mix well.7. Add the ground paste, 1 cup water and mix well. 8. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.9. Add fish pieces, cover and cook for 6-8 minutes.10.
