FISH PULUSUIngredients8 rawas darnesSalt to taste½ tsp turmeric powderGravy2 tbsps coconut oil1 tsp mustard seeds¼ tsp fenugreek seeds (methi dana)1 tsp cumin seeds10-15 curry leaves3-4 green chillies, slit2-3 dried red chillies1 large onion, chopped1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste1 tsp red chilli powder½ tsp turmeric powder½ tsp coriander powder1 tsp cumin powder4 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishSalt to taste1 tbsp tamarind pulpSteamed rice to serveMethod1. Take rawas darnes in a bowl, add salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Squeeze the juice of lemon and mix till well combined. Set aside to marinate for 5-10 minutes. 2. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds and cook for a few seconds. Add cumin seeds and let them change colour. 3. Add curry leaves, green chillies, dried red chillies, onion and ginger-garlic paste and sauté till golden brown. 4. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, 2 tbsps coriander leaves and salt and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.5. Add 1 cup water, mix and cook till it comes to a boil. 6. Add the marinated darnes and gently mix. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.7. Add tamarind pulp and mix well. Add ¼ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes. 8. Add remaining coriander leaves and mix well. 9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice and onion wedges.
