Full Tandoori Chicken | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Have a family get together or party at home, then do try this popular recipe of whole chicken marinated with indian spices.

FULL TANDOORI CHICKEN

Ingredients

1 whole chicken
4 teaspoons Kashmiri red chilli powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup hung yogurt
1½ tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chilli paste
1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) powder
1½ teaspoons garam masala powder
1½ tablespoons mustard oil
Butter for brushing
Chaat masala for sprinkling

Method

1. Make incisions on whole chicken and put in a bowl. Add 2 teaspoons chilli powder, salt and 1½ tablespoons lemon juice and apply well all over inside out. Set aside.
2. Mix together hung yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, chilli paste, dried fenugreek leaves powder, garam masala powder, remaining chilli powder, salt, remaining lemon juice and mustard oil in another bowl.
3. Add chicken and apply well all over inside out. Set aside to marinate for 1-2 hours.
4. Preheat oven to 200º C.
5. Place the chicken on a baking tray, put tray in preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Brush some butter on chicken, sprinkle chaat masala on top and serve hot with green chutney and salad.
