Goan Chicken Patties | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A perfect after school snack for the hungry kids, these minced chicken cutlets are simple and easy to make

GOAN CHICKEN PATTIES

Ingredients

250 grams chicken mince
1 medium carrot, finely chopped
1 large potato, boiled, peeled and mashed
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon chaat masala
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
¼ cup dried breadcrumbs
1 egg
½ teaspoon vinegar
2 eggs, beaten
Semolina (rawa) for coating
Oil for shallow-frying

Method

1. Mix together chicken mince, carrots, potatoes, ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves, chilli powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, turmeric powder, green chillies, breadcrumbs and egg in a bowl. Add vinegar and mix well.
2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties. Dip in beaten eggs and coat in semolina.
3. Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Place the patties on it and shallow-fry till golden brown from both sides and the chicken is cooked.
4. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
