How to Cook Acorn Squash

Acorn squash is a treat straight from the garden! This veggie has a delicious buttery orange interior and is so easy to prepare. All it takes are a few small steps and some time in the oven and voila! Youre going to love it!

Ingredients

1 acorn squash
2 tablespoon salted butter
1-2 teaspoons sea salt and black pepper for savory
2 tablespoons brown sugar for sweet
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for sweet

Instructions

1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

2 Wash and cut 1-inch off the stem of the squash. Place the cut side down and then cut in half.

3 Using a spoon, scrape out the seeds. Criss Cross cut the flesh to help seasonings get further into the flesh,

4 Rub with butter and sprinkle with either sweet or savory seasonings.

5 Roast in oven, cut side up, for about 55-60 minutes based on the size. Flip over and let cool for just a bit. Will be done when fork tender.
