#SujanFunKitchen is here with one more#EasyHealthyRecipe!Sooji AppamIngredients for the outer covering:Maida - 1 ½ cupsLemon yellow food colouring - as requiredTil oil/sesame oil - few tbspsMethod to make the outer covering:In a bowl, add the maida and the colourMake a soft dough adding waterAdd few tbsps of oil to the dough and knead againFinally allow the dough to rest for half an hour in a oil-smeared bowlMeanwhile, proceed to make the stuffingIngredients for the stuffing;Sooji/Rawa - 1 cupSugar - 2 cupsCardamom powder - few pinchesAny chopped nuts like almonds or cashew (optional) - 1 tbspGhee - few tspsBoiling water - 2 ½ cupsMethod to make the stuffing:Take a thick pan and heat few tsps of gheeThen, quickly roast the chopped nuts and add the cardamom powder tooNow, add the Sooji/Rawa and roast to a light golden colourThen, add the boiling water to the Sooji/rawa and keep cooking till it all water is absorbedNow, add the sugar and stir everything togetherKeep cooking till all the sugar is absorbed well and the stuffing becomes thick and non-stickyAllow the stuffing to come to room temperatureIngredients for deep frying:Oil - for deep fryingMethod to assemble:When the stuffing come to room temperature, make a gooseberry-size balls out of itThen, knead the resting dough again and make small gooseberry-size balls out of itNow, oil you hand and pat out the outer layer ball into a thin disc and stuff with the fillingClose by pulling up all the edgesMeanwhile heat oil in a pan for fryingNow, pat back the stuffed ball into a thin disc and deep-fry till the Sooji Appam is light goldenPlease SUBSCRIBE for more such videos.
