This Jain Masoor Dal khichdi is going to make the perfect filling lunch for you and your family.JAIN DAL KHICHDI Ingredients¾ cup Tata Sampann Masoor Dal2½ tbsps ghee + for drizzling1½ tsps cumin seeds2-3 green chillies, chopped8-10 curry leaves2 large tomatoes, chopped½ tsp turmeric powder2 tsps red chilli powder1 tsp coriander-cumin (dhana-jeeru) powderSalt to taste2½ cups cooked basmati rice1 tsp pav bhaji masala½ tsp garam masala powder½ lemon1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leavesCoriander sprig for garnishPapad to servePickle to serveMethod1. In a large bowl, add Tata Sampann Masoor Dal and wash it with water 2-3 times.2. Add the dal in a non-stick pressure cooker and pressure cook it till 2-3 whistles are released. Allow the pressure to be released completely.3. Meanwhile, heat 1½ tbsps ghee in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and green chillies, curry laves, tomatoes and sauté well. 4. Add turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, and coriander-cumin powder, salt and mix well. Cover and cook till tomatoes are pulpy.5. Add cooked dal and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add cooked rice and mix well.6. Add pav bhaji masala, remaining red chilli powder and garam masala powder and adjust salt. Mix well.7. Squeeze lemon and chopped coriander. Mix well and drizzle remaining ghee. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.8. Transfer into a serving bowl, drizzle a little ghee and garnish with coriander sprig.
