Jalapeno Pies | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

These freshly baked pies have an interesting jalapeno mixture loaded with cheese. Take a bite on it. !

JALAPENO PIES

Ingredients

200 grams puff pastry sheet
2-3 fresh jalapenos, chopped
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
½ teaspoon red chilli flakes
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
Bocconcini slices as required
Melted butter for brushing

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180̊ C.
2. Mix together cheese, jalapenos, chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns, salt and coriander leaves in a bowl.
3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet. Use a flower shaped cookie cutter and cut out shapes from it.
4. Place a bocconcini slice on top of some of the flowers and top with a spoonful of the prepared cheese mixture in the centre. Apply water on the remaining flowers, place on top and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
5. Place the pies on a baking tray and brush with some butter. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Serve hot.
