Puffed rice with a spicy masaledar taste and a unique blend of flavours is the perfect evening Chai-time snack.JHAL MURIIngredients2½ cups puffed rice (muri)3 tbsps mustard oil2 tsps mustard seeds1 tsp fenugreek seeds2 tsps fennel seeds¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)1½ tsps red chilli powder1 tsp roasted cumin powderBlack salt to taste½ tsp chaat masala ½ cup boiled brown chickpeas2 tbsps roasted peanuts1 small tomato, chopped½ small cucumber, chopped1 small onion, chopped1 green chilli, chopped1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leavesMethod 1. Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, fennerl seeds and asafoetida. Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, mix till fragrant. Take the pan off the heat, strain the oil and set aside.2. For the spice mix, add roasted cumin powder in a small bowl, add black salt, remaining red chilli powder and chaat masala, mix well.3. Take puffed rice in a large bowl, add boiled brown chickpeas, roasted peanuts, tomato, cucumber, onion, green chilli, coriander, 2 tsps spiced oil, 2 tsps jhal muri spice mix and mix well.4.
