A raw-mango infused dal for the mango season this year!KAIRI KI DALIngredients1 cup Tata Sampann Toor Dal1 tbsp ghee1 tsp mustard seeds1½ tsps cumin seeds3-4 green chillies, slit½ tsp asafoetida (hing)1 inch ginger, chopped½ cup grated raw mango½ tsp turmeric powder¼ tsp red chilli powder1 tbsp burnt garlic½ cup fried onion + for garnishSalt to taste1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander + for garnishSteamed rice to serve Method1. In a bowl, add Tata Sampann Toor Dal and sufficient water to soak for 3-4 hours. Drain, boil and transfer into another bowl.2. Heat ghee in a non-stick deep pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, asafoetida, ginger, and mix well. Sauté for a minute.3. Add raw mango and sauté well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, burnt garlic, fried onion, and mix well. Cook till oil separates.4. Add cooked dal and mix well. Add salt, stir well and cook till the mixture comes to a boil. 5. Churn the mixture with a churner, add chopped coriander and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Take it off the heat.6.
