Learn how to make Kala Jamun at home from our chef Smita on Ruchkar Mejwani. Kala Jamun is a popular Indian sweet dessert loved by all! It is prepared with mawa / khawa, milk powder and sugar syrup.Ingredients:3 Cups Sugar1 & 1/2 Cups Water250 gms Mawa / Khawa1/4th Cup All Purpose Flour3 tbsp Milk Powder3 tbsp Arrowroot Powder1 tsp Cardamom PowderWaterOil for deep fryingMethod:- To make the sugar syrup heat a pan. Add sugar & water.- Let the sugar melt completely. When the water comes to a boil & has thickened reduce the flame. Check if the syrup has reached one thread consistency. Switch off the flame.- Add cardamom powder in the sugar syrup. Give a stir.- In a bowl add mawa / khawa. Mix it gently with your palms.- Add milk powder, all purpose flour, arrowroot powder & water. Mix everything well and make a soft dough.- Make small portions of the dough and roll them into a ball.- Heat oil for deep frying.- Deep fry all the kala jamuns on a dark brown color.
