Karei no Nitsuke Recipe (Tender and Delicious Flatfish Simmered in Broth) | Cooking with Dog

We are making an all-time favorite, Karei no Nitsuke, a simmered fish recipe. In this cooking method, you can also cook other fish such as mebaru, kinmedai, kinki, hirame and marlin. Dip the tender meat in the broth and enjoy the delicious dish!

How to make Karei no Nitsuke

(2 people) Cook Time: 30 minutes

2 pieces of Karei aka righteye flounder, a type of flatfish (400g/14.1 oz)
100ml Water (3.4 fl oz)
100ml Sake (3.4 fl oz)
1 tbsp Sugar
2 tbsp Mirin
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
4 Ginger Root Slices
1/2 Burdock Root
Ginger Root, shredded
Kinome, young leaves of sansho pepper

* 1 tablespoon (tbsp) = 15 ml, 1 teaspoon (tsp) = 5 ml
