Kashmiri Kahwa | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Tea infused with cardamom, cinnamon and saffron is the perfect brew to warm you up on a cold winter morning.

KASHMIRI KAHWA

Ingredients

2 teaspoons kahwa tea leaves
8-10 green cardamoms
1 cinnamon stick
A generous pinch of saffron + for garnish
8 almonds, chopped
2 tablespoons sugar/honey

Method

1. Crush the green cardamoms in a motar pestle.
2. Add 3 cups water to a deep nonstick pan. Add cardamoms, cinnamon and saffron and allow the water to come to a boil.
3. Add the tea leaves, almonds and continue to boil for another minute.
4. Add honey and mix well.
5. Strain into kettle and pour into individual cups.
6. Serve hot garnished with saffron strands.
