Kathal Ki Tikki | कटहल की टिक्की | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Kathal or raw jackfruit is power packed with nutrients, so make the most of it by making these tasty tikkis.

KATHAL KI TIKKI

Ingredients

300 grams boiled raw jackfruit (kathal)
2-3 tbsps chopped onion
2 green chillies, chopped
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
¾ cup fresh bread crumbs
Oil for deep frying
Green chutney to serve

Method

1. Put the boiled raw jackfruit into a blender jar and blend to a coarse paste. Transfer into a bowl. Add onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and fresh bread crumbs and mix well.
2. Take small portions of the mixture and shape each portion into a ball. Fatten it to shape it like a tikki.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the tikkis a few at a time and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
4. Arrange on a serving plate and serve hot with green chutney.
